Hooray for creative outlets!
This last weekend, Lauren, Kira and I went shopping for Christmas-gift-making supplies. This naturally included some thrifting. For a while, I was feeling a little uninspired with what I was finding, but don't worry, I figured it all out and am excited once again for making my gifts!
As we were at an antique store, I stumbled across these old gas station numbers and at $3 a piece, I had to get a few! I originally wanted all three to go in Bennett's room, but he only ended up with two...
because I loved the way the number 3 looked next to the birdcage on our cabinet:
We made a stop at the craft store where, among other things, I picked up some stamp pads so I could make my own gift tags. I got to practice on my nephew's birthday present:
I was feeling so inspired that lastnight, I made up a whole bunch more while Chris watched a movie:
(yes that is Scout's nose in the last picture...he wanted to sniff the cards.)
I think I will make some birthday cards tonight!
oh that is so fun! i love thrifting!
Your cards look great! Did you use an eraser end to do the little banners? I'm having a hard time waiting until we get together to do some of my craft stuff. I really want to work on it!
those turned out so great!
you're going to have to show me how to do this!
