Two Things Tuesday
I haven't posted in a while. Wouldn't you agree that it's so easy to get out of the habit and then after you know it, a week has gone by with no posts.
It's not really a big deal to me if I don't post everyday, as I'm sure will happen once the weather stays nice for more than a day at a time.
Anyways...Here are two things I love right now:
#1: Latte Bowls from Anthro
There is nothing these bowls aren't useful for. We use the big ones for cereal, pasta, ice cream, etc. The small ones are perfect for Bennett's food when I'm feeding him or the perfect size for a snack. They are sturdy and my favorite part is the cute colors! They are always getting new colors which means the 'old' colors go on sale every so often. I just got the small blue ones for less than a dollar a piece! Someday I want to have open cupboards with stacks of mismatched latte bowls. My little collection will do for now.
#2:Wood & Wire ring
Chris found this on Etsy for me for Valentine's Day. Isn't it awesome? He knew that I had been looking for a ring made of wood. Isn't it cute that he searched Etsy for something I would love?
And love it I do...it's so unique!
Random picture:
This was taken on the 13th floor of our building. It's such a cool view!
Two Things Tuesday
Here are two things I am loving around my house today:
#1: Cement ceiling
I LOVE the ceilings in
our new place. We like the industrial feel it gives the place, but it's a pretty subtle one...most people don't even notice them! There are even some measurement markings on them from when the building was built.
#2: Ergo Baby carrier

Don't they look like they are having so much fun? Probably because their backs don't hurt. I'm not sure if I look this happy wearing mine, but I do love it.
After using both the
Peanut Shell Sling and the
Baby Bjorn, I decided to get an Ergo. I have heard so many good things about them and see them on moms (and dads) all over town.
The thing I like most about it is that I can use it with a newborn (for my next one obviously, and no I'm not pregnant) all the way until your baby is a toddler! ONE carrier for the whole time, that's crazy talk. I also like that you can wear it in front, on your hip or on your back.
Bennett seems to like it too! :)

Two Things Tuesday
Here are two things I am loving around my house:
#1: new tool crock from Anthro
this was part of my wishlist a while back, and I ordered it after we moved but it was backordered for a month.
I could use it as a vase too!

#2: the quilt my mom made for Bennett
I got to choose all the fabric...it's all Amy Butler and I looove the way it turned out!
Sometimes I even use it for myself.
Two Things Tuesday
Two things I am loving in our house right now are:
#1: our West Elm bedding

I know that you can find bedding in all different price ranges, but ever since I tried out West Elm's bedding I haven't gone back. We have multiple quilt sets, duvet covers and sheet sets from WE and haven't ever been disappointed. The materials they use are so comfy, and it's true that you get what you pay for.

I'm especially picky about my sheets and the way they feel on my bare skin...these jersey sheets feel like you are sleeping on your favorite t-shirt! Amazing!
We bought this quilt for our new apartment:

I love that it looks all comfy and broken in.
I also love that it matches the color of the
#2: Vintage Telefunken Hi-Fi from the 50's
We paid $100 for this after finding it on Craigslist. It was a steal and we were able to put our own components in it to make it work for our modern little family!

This is my view everyday when I'm on the computer
(we have a
mac mini inside and sit on the couch with a wireless keyboard and mouse)
It has a sweet record player in it
(unfortunately none of the powered stuff works right now)
And here is Ember showing you the radio

...and the receiver Chris put into the 'storage' space.
There are even little old speakers that swing out of each side.
Cool huh?
Those are my two things...share yours and link up on
Kassi's blog.
It's fun. I promise.
Oh and it's been exactly a year since we found out we were having a boy!
This was right before we left for our ultrasound.

Two Things Tuesday
(and something very important)
These are two things I am loving around my house right now.
#1: my grandma's dresser

My grandma passed away a few years ago. I couldn't think of anything I wanted from her house more than this dresser. I love the mid-century design. It has been sitting in our garage since we got it just holding candles and random junk that we didn't need.
It has been promoted to holding clothes in our bedroom which is only fitting for a dresser with so much character.
On top of the dresser is a painting I did, a little jar from
anthro that holds my rings, and a
new vintage-looking alarm clock that I got Chris for v-day.
The above picture embodies the style we are going for in the new place; mid-century with a little sprinkle of fun. I can't wait to get started...5 days to the Ladd people!
#2: our Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair

We found this at Portland Modern a few weeks ago. I was a little hesitant because of the price but we actually got a very good deal on it because there is a tiny scratch from the previous owner. This
tiny scratch knocked it into our price range, and without it we would never be able to afford this beauty. (we also won't beat ourselves up over any scratches Bennett may put in it while driving his Hotwheels on it in a few years since it has already been broken in)
But BEWARE...if you attempt to sit in it with riveted jeans, you will be scolded.
On to something of more importance than furniture...
Have you been to Pacing the Panic Room? Last summer I discovered it while searching for not-so-lame maternity clothes that would cover my baby bump. American Apparel had a link to it on their website.
Check out Ryan's maternity series and the current walk to 40 weeks because his work is amazing and it gives me inspiration to do something like this the next time around.
Please go check out the post he did today and support the cause, because LB is worth it. If you think about it, pray for LB and all the other kids with SMS today. Jesus heals!
Two things I love...
#1 My view of the beautiful forest right behind our apartment. I LOVE trees, especially taking pictures of them. This forest always has perfect lighting for pictures and we go out there quite often. I feel very spoiled to be able to look out my window and see this whenever I want to.

snow!

green

I still had a few months to go here (I was huge at the end!)
Bennett's first photo shoot

#2 Bullet planter
I got this for Chris for his birthday last year then we went to Life and Limb and Chris picked out this awesome South African aloe to go in it. Life and Limb recently closed down which is a total bummer cause they had some pretty awesome stuff!

2 things
Here are two things around my house that I love:
orange 'birdcage' from Anthro

When we bought this the girl ringing it up actually asked if we had birds. If you look at it, you would not be able to keep a bird in this thing and I'm pretty sure the three things in the bottom are to hold candles.
vintage Temp-o-rama dishes

I bought these seven years ago during my freshman year of college. I recently found out that they are a huge collectors item and people will pay a pretty penny for them. I love them!
PS: look at what I made last night...

I had no idea what I was doing and I cut up an old shirt,
but I think it turned out pretty darn cute.
Maybe I will put it on a headband or something.
