I'm a stay at home mama living in PDX with the hubs Chris, our two boys and two cats. We are living in (and slowly fixing up) our first house, a midcentury ranch. Jesus has captured my heart, and I am so thankful!
This little blog is mostly about our adventures as a family of four, with the possibility of a recipe or craftiness sprinkled in there.
I've had bangs before but not that thick. I love the swoop and it's super easy to throw my hair up if I don't want it in my face. I'm not sure how my face shape works with thick bangs, but I keep deciding I'm gonna do it then I talk myself out of it. Also, I'm not really sure how to style them to make them lay flat...lots of product? straighten them? (I'm not very talented at using a round brush and blowdryer at the same time.)
I feel like switching it up for the summer.
Do you have bangs? Do you love them? Do you hate them?
Help me make up my mind!
Here is a cute shot I got yesterday of Ember and Scout enjoying the new couch
(they love to cuddle)
With the weather being so nice it's hard to keep up the posting like I did before the move...
Come back tomorrow and Friday to see pictures of the new place!
This is Bennett last Friday trying rice cereal for the first time.
He loved it then but has pretty much lost interest and clamps his mouth shut, unless I make a complete fool of myself totally over-exaggerating the spoon being a train or airplane.
...then I can sneak it into the little crack that is a smile.
I think he knows there is better stuff out there.
I read this a few days ago and loved it. It's SO true and I feel lucky to be trusted with something so important.
I hope to do a post soon with pictures of the apartment...we are finishing hanging stuff and need to go to IKEA to get one more storage cabinet to contain some randomness. Look for a post next week! Thanks for sticking with me! ♥
Bennett is six months old today...where did the time go? I constantly get reminded by people that it goes by so quickly and it is SO true.
My sweet baby boy is already halfway to being one. It kinda makes me want to cry.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately.
Aside from moving last weekend, Bennett and I have been sick. It's hard having a sick baby, especially when you are sick as well.
I'm sure my massive amounts of followers have been waiting on the edge of their seats to hear/see anything about our new apartment.
Downsizing sucks.
We are still trying to find homes for all my baking stuff and previous Costco purchases of chicken broth, black beans, q-tips, irish spring soap and paper towels. Kitchen storage is less than half of what we had before. It's a sacrifice that is very much worth it to live downtown (5 blocks from Chris' work and 4 blocks to church).
Here is a sneak peek into our humble abode!
This is standing at the front door. Our bed is in the entry area essentially. Notice the exposed cement walls and ceiling. LOVE it! (and so does Scout)
Past the bed to the right is the kitchen.
Across from the kitchen to the left is the bathroom.
Walk a little farther and you will be in the living room.
To the left of the living room is the bedroom, which is Bennett's.
That's about it. I'll post more detailed pictures once everything is settled.
I can't even count the times we have walked through this park. It's only two blocks away but we didn't discover it until I was very pregnant last summer. We walked around it so many times trying to 'move things along.' I'm surprised Bennett wasn't born here.
Here is Chris pushing Bennett on his first stroller ride when he was six days old;
through the park of course.
It felt so good to be out in the sun and back in the park with Bennett in tow.
Our stroller has an ipod hookup and speakers that get pretty darn loud. I, for some reason always listen to The Followers when we walk through the park.
(yes we still have the 1st gen. ipod mini)
Bennett likes walks through the park too. The rest of the pictures are from one of our walks last week when it was SO nice out.
I have a feeling that the PSU Park Blocks will become our new Summerlake Park. I'm excited about all of the new things I can show Bennett right outside our front door.
