So this last weekend was quite eventful, but not in a good way...

Chris was playing bass at a huge church event called Loveology on Thursday and Friday nights.
Chris hadn't been feeing well for a few days but decided to play anyways. I was at home with Bennett sound asleep in his crib, when a little after 10pm I got a call from our friend Stephen who said he was taking chris to the hospital because he wasn't doing very well. All I could hear was Chris gasping for air in the background. I was stuck and wanted nothing else but to be with Chris! If I didn't have B I would have started running to the hospital (a few miles away) but such is life with a baby and only one car (that was parked outside the church event). After a few attempts, my mom answered her phone and was on her way to come stay with Bennett while some of my amazing friends came to take me to the hospital.

The doctor summed it up as 'heart palpitations' which was probably a result of Chris already being sick + coffee + ibuprofin + exhaustion. Not fun. We got home around 1am and collapsed into bed.

Around 4am my body decided it wanted to start vacating everything I had eaten that day...which continued the rest of the night. Needless to say, we were zombies on Friday. Being sick is no fun, but being sick with a toddler to take care of is impossible! Bennett watched his first movie Friday morning (Over The Hedge) and I don't think we left the couch all day!

No parenting awards were obtained that day.
Luckily Chris' parents were able to take Bennett Friday night and for most of Saturday. Chris and I slept pretty much the whole day Saturday which helped me to feel better, but still Chris is just now starting to feel a little better.

It's been 4 years since either of us have been this sick and I hope even more pass before the next time! Thank you so much for all of you who were praying for us to feel better!

To make matters worse, this weekend we actually had amazing weather, something Portland had been waiting for for so long. Go figure it would happen when we were stuck in bed!

Sunday, Bennett and I were able to go hang out at a park with some friends while Chris got some rest.

Bennett hadn't been on a swing since last fall, so he was loving it!

By Sunday evening Chris was starting to feel a little better and just wanted to get outside so we joined Craig and Lauren for pizza at Sellwood Pizza Kitchen and played at the park nearby.

Bennett wouldn't mind going to the park twice everyday:

There is a light at the end of the tunnel...
as I mentioned here that we are at the start of something very exciting...
we are officially house hunting!
We have narrowed a list of about 100 houses down to 11 that we are going to check out on one crazy day next week. That should be interesting but we so so blessed and excited to be able to buy a house of our very own!

Yay! House hunting! What kind of neighborhoods are you looking in? Ian and I put an offer in on a house a couple weeks ago (it's a short sale) so we hope to hear back from them soon!

Bummer about the sickness, I'm glad everyone is on the mend! Where are you guys looking for houses? Staying on the west side? You can get a lot more house for your money out here, and it's where all the cool people are.
