This weekend was pretty busy but it was so fun!

Saturday we did a little shopping at Trader Joe's and hung out with a bunch of friends.

We played telephone pictionary while Bennett and his friends Lucy and Blake destroyed our friend's house by de-alphabetizing their dvds, rearranging their bookshelves and wreaking havoc on a china set.
After we cleaned up the mess, we all went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory.

I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures of all of our friends together (including babies) because this is the first time we have all been in the same room in a long time...very different with 3 babies!

Chris and I carbo loaded for the 8k we would be running the next morning.
Mmm carbs.

Sunday morning pre-race:

Post race family pic:

The cool thing about the Shamrock run is that it runs through downtown Portland, so we were already familiar with our course. I never realized how many hills dowtown had until I ran it!

A view of the runners outside our window:

Bennett loved watching all the people go by from his bedroom window:

The last five weeks of training I have been running 11 minute miles, but I kicked butt at this race and ran 9.45 min miles (early in the morning, in the rain and on hills)! I contribute it to an amazing amount of adrenalin and sprinting a majority of the last mile just so I could be done! So all in all I ran my first 8k in 48mins and 22secs! I finished 324th out of 927 in my division...pretty good for my first race! And I also acheived obliterated my goal of not stopping at all, which lead to the reward Chris so graciously offered me:

Lululemon wunder unders!

Expensive, but the most comfortable piece of clothing I have ever put on. Hands down. I don't plan on working out in these babies, they have been moved into the 'everyday black leggings that go with everything' spot. Seriously, save your pennies and go get some.
They will change your life!

We also did a lot of playing in boxes this weekend:

And we enjoyed spending lots of time with Chris since he's been incredibly busy working crazy hours.
We love him and his hard-working self! :)

Speaking of Chris, he joined the 21st century Sunday and got an iphone.
I plan on joining in June when I'm able to upgrade, hopefully to an iphone 5...booya!
( did I really just say that?)

On Friday I took a picture every hour and am working on a post for it, so be sure to be looking for it in the next few days! It's always interesting to see what people's days are like. Luckily I chose a non-boring day to do it on!
Stay tuned...

Awesome!! Congrats on the race - you kicked it! I wish I could have been there to run, but my training isn't there yet. My eyes are set on June. That's when I'll be ready.

Any other races in the works??

Awesome job with the running! It always feels so good to kick-butt on a goal you've set, and some lululemon rewards help too:-) xoxo

yay! i'm so proud of you becs!! i need some type of goal to get in shape, although i don't think much of anything could motivate me to run - definitely not my fave.

And Bennett is so cute in his little box. Also....random side note....i totally thought he had no diaper on at first glance in your post race family pic, because of your hand in the photo. I'm a nerd like that.

I wish I had taken photos, too. Bennett didn't destroy our house! It took like 5 minutes to put everything back together. It just looked like a lot since he and Lu kind of got paper everywhere. That was easy to pick up! It was so fun to have everyone together.
